arrested in Birmingham road rage incident
Source: Detroit Free Press
The road rage incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Friday. Kiernan said the off-duty Detroit officer, 43, was driving southbound on Woodward Avenue when he reportedly cut off another driver near the intersection of Maple and Woodward.
The two vehicles continued southbound and, at some point, the driver of the other vehicle, a 53-year-old Beverly Hills man who driving in an SUV with his wife, caught up to the Detroit police officer.
"We're told the officer rolled his window down and pointed the gun (a .40 caliber Glock) in their direction," Kiernan said. "Whether he was pointing the gun directly at them is something that still has to be determined."

(31,805 posts)It was the other driver who chased the cop. That makes him the aggressor in control of a two ton lethal instrument.

(35,692 posts)He caught up to him, apparently, but that is not proof he chased him. If he is rolling down the window, yelling profanities, making gestures, tailgating him, etc. the case for self defense might be made.

Authorities in Terre Haute, Indiana said a 54-year-old man shot and killed his wife before taking his own life, just hours after the couple got married, the Indianapolis Star reported.
Emergency dispatchers received multiple calls from 50-year-old Kelly Samson early Sunday morning saying she had been attacked by her husband, George Scott Samson. Local sheriffs deputies said they later found Kelly Samsons body inside their sons bedroom, with several gunshot wounds to the head and torso. Her husbands body was found in the basement with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Vigo County Chief Deputy Sheriff Clark Cottom told the Star that the couple got into a verbal argument toward the end of their wedding reception on Saturday night. He did not specify the nature of the argument, saying his department was still gathering statements from attendees...
George Samson, an anesthesiologist by trade, is reportedly also listed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as a current federal firearms dealer, allowing him to make weapons and ammunition that can be sold around the country...
