"Men in green" raise suspicions of east Ukrainian villagers

Source: Reuters

Unidentified, heavily-armed strangers with Russian accents have appeared in an eastern Ukrainian village, arousing residents' suspicions despite Moscow's denials that its troops have deliberately infiltrated the frontier.

Two witnesses told Reuters on Tuesday that the dozens of men, who arrived at the weekend and set up a road block, were not local and had military ration packs marked with Russian writing.

While they wore no insignia, their appearance or behaviour bore striking similarities to a group of Russian troops detained in Ukraine in the past few days, and to Russian forces which occupied Crimea earlier this year, the witnesses said.

The men had white arm bands, the same identifying mark that was worn by 10 men captured a few kilometres (miles) away by Ukrainian forces and who, in video released on Tuesday, said they were Russian paratroopers.

2. "Two witnesses told Reuters" - are you saying that anything any Ukrainian says should be ignored?

If that were the case, then you'd only trust Russians (ie foreigners).

"this is getting ridiculous..."

That any story which does not validate your bias is simply propaganda? Yes... it is indeed ridiculous. However, you could always post some more state-run truthiness from the Russian Times to better engage your colorful and dramatic fictions.

If you feel the secessionist project should succeed, that the Kiev government should suffer defeat, what would you see wrong with Russia providing assistance to the secessionists?

Putler is being very patient, running a slow-motion conquest that spaces out the outrages to minimize global response.

9. Why do these threads remind me of the predictions of the end of the world a few years back

I understand the desire to try and sort through the media and understand what is happening in Ukraine, but really, how many predictions have to not pan out before people stop blindly accepting every report and not only that attempting to spread it as truth?

How many different really superficial analysis of the aid convoy did people propagate that did not pan out? That was almost hysterical the conspiracy theories that had no basis in logic?

We know in the last couple of days that a group of 10 military men from Russia were caught on the other side of the border. Other than that we really *know* little else. We have claims and counterclaims with media sources that have been playing loose with the truth for months.

I thought faith based stuff was in the religion group.

I'm sure it's just a matter of people being kidnapped in Russia and dragged over to the Ukraine against their will or something.

Please keep denying it. You and your "friends" keep making yourselves look foolish.
