6. Way past time they did.

Their excuse of not doing so due to threats made against police via social media was lame from the beginning. As if by keeping it a secret they didn't incite more anger from the citizens and the internet community?

A little respect goes a long way toward making people have some hope there will be justice. Total disregard of a the needs of the people leads to people feeling helpless and angry.

7. I had the thought while watching the Ferguson police chief's press conference today...

That by not releasing the name of the officer who shot Mr. Brown, the police department itself was putting all the officers in Ferguson at risk of retaliation. It would seem that without the name of this officer, the public could somehow feel that any of the officers could be the shooter. Not following their own rules with regards to release of information is not the way to inspire the public to trust and respect them. I hope that this step will help defuse the situation in my state.

I don't want to lose any more of my fellow Missourians to this type of tragedy, be they young men of any color, or police officers.

I would like to thank those around the nation who are protesting tonight for justice for Michael Brown. Even though there is much work to be done, you are an inspiration.

8. Notice how they say "since Brown died last weekend" instead of "since Brown was killed last weekend"
