Charlie Crist on Thursday tapped the head of Miami-Dade’s Democratic Party to become his running mate for governor, adding a needed South Florida Hispanic face to the former Republican’s ticket. 'As a working mom, a small business owner and a Floridian, I am proud to serve this state that has given me so many opportunities,' Annette Taddeo-Goldstein said Thursday morning at a news conference at Lab Miami in Wynwood.

Taddeo is a Colombian American who must have married a Jewish guy. I never saw her using the Taddeo-Goldstein version of her name but it makes sense in Florida!

Apparently Debbie Wasserman Schulz tried to block her from chairing the party in Florida, or something along those lines - according to the comments.

When Taddeo won the Blue America contest, then Debbie had to notice. She was a DFA candidate, a little on the moderate side. Wise choice by Crist.

Mario Diaz-Balart, whom she met in the Florida House. It looks as if she got the entire Diaz-Balart family making her political choices for her regarding any Latin American policy. Sad to see in a Democrat.
