President Obama: ‘Common sense’ transportation bill is ‘up to the House’

Source: The Hill

(snip)
In his weekly address, Obama cast blame for the gridlock on transportation funding on House Republicans.

“Once again, we’re waiting on Congress,” he said of the highway bill’s renewal. “In a matter of days, funding will stop for all sorts of transportation projects. Construction sites will go idle. Workers will have to go home. And our economy will take a hit.

“This Congress cannot let that happen,” Obama continued. “The Senate did their part. They passed a bipartisan transportation bill. It had the support of 52 Democrats and 22 Republicans. Now it’s up to the House to follow suit; to put aside partisan posturing, end the gridlock, and do what’s right for the American people.”

Obama said extending the transportation bill before it expires next weekend was “common sense."

2. Congress goes on a 2 week recess

after next week. And Cheeto's intransigence continues to gum up the functioning of government.

Please America. Wake Up. Remove these idiots from office this year. Please.

3. Don't forget the Blunt amendment

it was just a ploy to stall/delay/kill this bill. The rpigs also thought it would be red meat for their base, it may have been, but it backfired with women all across this country including their own. Their only objective for doing anything in session (McConnell, the effete turtle, and Bohner, cry baby choir boy) is to derail the President's agenda. Well thanks to you ladies they're not going to get away with it! The Transportation bill is a major part of the Presidents economic stimulus plan, creating thousands of jobs and refurbishing crumbling infrastructure, if the House members stall/delay/kill or even balk at this bill Democrats should be able to murder them with bad publicity. VOTE A STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC BALLOT, put an end to rpig dark ages insanity, and let's be happy again!

4. VOTE A STRAIGHT DEMOCRATIC BALLOT

What else is there to do? The Dems aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I mean, the GOP is useless.

The Prez is a high profile gig, but it's Congress that makes laws. EVERY Dem up for the House and Senate should be crowing about the "do nothing Repug Congress".... which merges perfectly with the "block everything Repug Senators" we've had since 2008. When, in the rare instance a Repug does do something, it's inevitably a step backwards... a "get rid of something" move. This should be easy. And it would be but for the RW Media.
