Pussy Riot beaten in Sochi Winter Olympic games

Source: BBC

Russian protest group Pussy Riot have been beaten with whips by Cossacks who are helping patrol Sochi during the Winter Olympics.

They call Putin and his goons thugs and fascists, say how ruthless and totalitarian they are.

Then they're surprised not that Putin et al. aren't as ruthless and fascist as they're billed to be--if Putin et al. fit the bill they've been given, PR's membership would be mostly gone by now--but by how pettily ruthless they actually are.

Somehow PR and expectations are far out of line with actual beliefs.

...on a Democratic site?

Conversely, I see that some of the posters who usually defend right wing authoritarianism in America, also like to point to Russia as the anti-America. You would think they would be in approval of this behavior.

This is a strange site.
