The day a major scandal broke involving New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Fox News devoted scant coverage to the developing story. On January 8, Fox devoted less than 15 minutes to the New Jersey bridge closure scandal, compared to more than two hours each on CNN and MSNBC.

I know this may be shocking, but Fox News does not seem to be covering the Christie Administration's Bridegate scandal very much. I guess fairness and balance requires them to bury it when it involves a potential conservative presidential nominee (Christie may not even be governor of New Jersey if it gets much worse).

(26,060 posts)For the same reason they pushed Romney, they wanted to push Christie. The use the teabaggers to stir up shit but they know to get the White House, they need someone who has the reputation for moderation. This is killing them but I suspect they'll throw him under the bus and push Jeb next.

(8,821 posts)I just doubt everyone involved is going to be willing to take a fall for the governor.
For example: At least one death can be attributed directly to the traffic jams on the George Washington Bridge. EMTs were unable to reach a woman who had called 911 for an ambulance before she died. If this was a conspiracy to tie up traffic, someone is responsible for that death. Will Christie's aides do ten years in prison for him?

(30,243 posts)His former staffers are definitely going down. They'll be lucky if they don't end up in jail. Christie might just get away with it, unless there's a smoking gun.

He said the noon segment featured these stories before they segued into the opinion segments:
Benghazi
Ants in space (apparently NASA sent some ants into space)
IRS scandal
Fast and Furious
Obamacare
At some point after the Obamacare segment and between the opinion stuff they had an "around the world" thing with a spinning globe that showed rapid-fire pieces. One of the highlights was Christie's speech and they devoted a whole 20-25 seconds to it.
