A Texas Court of Appeals overturned former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's (R-TX) conviction of money laundering on Thursday, finding the trial court's decision "legally insufficient to sustain DeLay’s convictions," KHOU reported.

A court convicted and sentenced DeLay to three years in prison in 2010 for allegedly scheming to improperly influence Texas elections by helping to illegally steer corporate money to candidates in 2002. DeLay has since been waging a lenghty appeals process, and was acquitted Thursday.

3. law

Republicans believe in the law only when it will effect other people, there is no equal justice system in this country if you have money you can buy your way out. I wonder who appointed this judge, not saying there is funny stuff going on, yes I am there are two justice systems in this country.

5. NOW we know the reason for the delay (no pun intended)

He just waited out the clock until he could find a GOP judge that was sympathetic. I am not surprised.

This goon will be like Ollie North and pretend it was a hit squad and he was always innocent.

Disgusting.

6. My first post at DU

was on a thread announcing Tom DeLay's indictment. I thought DeLay's indictment was a sign that things would improve.

Ha ha. I was so naive then.

7. Big shocker

I'm sure John Gotti's convictions would have been overturned if the Gambino Crime Family was presiding over his appeals
