Prosecution rests on first day of Y-12 trespassers trial

Just before 6 pm, the government rested its case in the federal trial against three people who admit to trespassing and vandalism at the y-12 nuclear weapons complex.

One of the first guards to respond, Kirk Garland, was asked whether he felt threatened in any way. He said he didn't have to use deadly force on the three, knowing they were peaceful from previous encounters at the facility.

Another one of the first responders, Chad Riggs, showed redacted security footage of just how the protestors made their way to the building housing nuclear weapons.

The chief security officer testified that while their intentions weren't destructive, they were disruptive. He says a secret convoy had to be delayed while security dealt with the three, and that the break-in hurt America's credibility around the world.
