......Roseanne Barr seeks Green Party presidential nod

WASHINGTON (AP) — Roseanne Barr said Thursday she's running for the Green Party's presidential nomination — and it's no joke.
The actress-comedian said in a statement that she's a longtime supporter of the party and looks forward to working with people who share her values. She said the two major parties aren't serving the American people.

"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1 percent -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said.

Occupy Wall Street protesters popularized the "We are the 99 percent" slogan in their fight against economic disparity and perceived corporate greed.

Barr has submitted paperwork to the Green Party for her candidacy. The party's presidential nominee will be selected at a convention in Baltimore in July.

p.s. She even hired a voice coach because she wanted to do her best.

And as I said elsewhere:

A year ago if I had read this article I probably would have laughed. But I watched Rosanne's newest show "Roseanne's Nuts" (her show in Hawaii regarding her macadamia nut farm) in one of the episodes she gives speech to a group of young women and it was ONE HELL OF A SPEECH! Very thought provoking and serious. Did anyone else see/hear the speech?

....now, who on Gods'-green-earth could argue with that statement?

and spoke out in support and encouragement to those there.

I have great respect for her and glad she is running. There is also another woman running for Presidential candidate for the Green Party so it will be tough for them to decide.

I wish we could caucus for candidates that don't take Corporate money to run for Presdient.

except the majority of GOPers, do have 'some good things' to say

Even though she won't have a chance in hell of winning or even getting much media air-time she's kinda like a Ron Paul type of person in the respect that her voice could/might bring to the forefront some 'thoughts' regarding some of the issues that no one else is talking about in the campaign.

p.s. I am impressed with her Salt Lake City Pride speech due to the fact it isn't often that we hear anyone publicly speaking out for the right of Americans to NOT have religious beliefs.

That's all.

is not the most pleasant person to work with. In fact according to several of her writers and others that worked under her- she could be downright abusive in a crazy/psycho kind of way. She may be smart. She may be talented. She may hold all the right political positions. But I don't think the word stable would describe her and certainly not the word electable.

It is certainly true that she is not a viable candidate. But if the election turns out to be very close - it is not altogether implausible that we could have another Nader Syndrome.
