Clive Burr, former Iron Maiden drummer, dies at 56

Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr has died at the age of 56 after suffering from multiple sclerosis. Steve Harris, the heavy metal band's founder and bass player, said it was "terribly sad news" in an announcement on the group's website. "He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden in the early days when we were starting out." Iron Maiden was the first concert I ever went to. It was a triple bill- Fastway, Coney Hatch, and Iron Maiden.
August, 1983, at the Richfield Coliseum. I still have the program. |
