No injuries reported after United plane slides off runway at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
CLEVELAND - No one was hurt after an airplane slid off of the runway at Hopkins International Airport Friday morning.
United Flight 1639, a Boeing 737, was inbound from Fort Lauderdale when it landed and slid off of runway 6L and onto the grass around 10:45 a.m., according to Hopkins Airport and the FAA.
Passengers are deplaning and waiting for buses to be transported to the airport terminal.

The issue was that it was just cold enough that the drizzle that started after 4 AM turned into ice the moment it hit a cooler surface.
