On Sunday, February 17th, thousands will rally in Washington, D.C. to call on President Obama to make climate change part of his presidential legacy. The Forward on Climate Rally is being held by 350.org, The Sierra Club, and the Hip-Hop Caucus.
The Rally will demand that President Obama prove his leadership on serious climate action by officially rejecting TransCanadaís proposal to build the Keystone XL Pipeline across the U.S.-Canadian border. The KXL Pipeline would transport emissions-intensive tar sands oil across the U.S. Midwest to the Gulf of Mexico. In late 2011, over 15,000 people surrounded the White House pushing President Obama to deny the KXL Pipeline.
Already, 10,000 people have signed up to attend the Forward on Climate Rally.
