NRA Returns To Message Calling Obama’s Plans Elitist In High-Capacity Magazine Ad

Forget the softer tone. The National Rifle Association on Thursday returned to the hardcore style of messaging that drew so much derision to the group just last month.

The gun lobby group rolled out an ad that flew in the face of the softer tone the organization struck earlier in the week by once again attacking President Obama’s gun violence prevention plans as elitist hypocrisy.

“So they want to ban high capacity magazines. Not for the security that surrounds the president, congress, Mayor Bloomberg, rock stars, CEOs and wealthy big shots,” the ad’s narrator said. “And the mad men, drug cartels and home-invading killers will still get them from the same black market that sells drugs, stolen cars and everything else that criminals buy.”

“It’s just the rest of us, the law-abiding average people, who will have to defend our families with limited capacity magazines,” the narrator continued.

1. Blah, blah-blah, blah-blah, blah, blah.

Not a very snappy response like you usually find here at DU, but too bad-just sick and tired of the same old song being played by these people.

2. We should just legalize all guns, cocaine, meth, et al (sarcasm)

because those crazy criminal dudes are going to just get them anyway. Why don't we just make burglary legal (not just the Wall Street kind, which is already legal, and murder

just get everything out in the open

Now That's freedom!

3. I need the NRA to explain to us

how we are the Home of the Brave?

Everything the NRA and Republicans have dished out is fear! Be afraid!

Well ya know what NRA? We are done being intimidated by the gun industry and its spokesturd Wayne.

Remove fear from any of their speeches and what's left?

Nothing!

6. Any Congressperson that accepts money from the NRA dirt bags should be considered a terrorist.

I cannot believe we coddle these f*&kers and those who aren't members but also promote more guns in more places.

8. Let's really enforce the law!

ANYONE with a loaded firearm while under the influence of ANYTHING will be considered a felon and do 3 years in the state pen!

No plea bargains and no expensive lawyer will get this reduced.

The case was made for a vehicle being a deadly weapon in the hands of a person under the influence.

I think a firearm also qualifies as a deadly weapon.
