House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Wednesday said he agrees with his Republican colleague Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, on the use of drone strikes against U.S. citizens who are believed to be senior al-Qaeda members. In a statement Tuesday, Rogers defended the use of the strikes, arguing that the government has the authority and obligation to protect itself from terrorist threats.

During a press conference Wednesday, Boehner said he agreed with Rogers' statement. "That's all," he said.

4. The government has the authority and obligation to protect itself from terrorist threats.

Do the people have the authority and obligation to protect ourselves from a government that has given itself the right to target Americans, in any geographical location without due process? Rove and Boehner, guess we are double screwed.

5. How quaint! "...government has the authority and obligation to protect itself from terrorists

threats." One wonders if that includes the threat posed by stochastic terrorists who incite the deranged to act out their hate by massacring the public with their military-grade assault weapons:

6. Boehner finally finds his ass with both hands

in the form of a "bipartisan" consensus that US citizens can be summarily
murdered by their own government, at the sole discretion of POTUS, for
secret reasons.

Am I supposed to think this is cool?

8. Absolutely. What could possibly go wrong when a nation summarily murders it's own citizens?

with questionable "extra-judicial due cause", for secret reasons, never being even
charged with a crime, no court appearance, much less having an attorney, etc..

Just ask Saddam Hussein or Mr. Assad
