3. Another case of bullying?

Doesn't justify using a gun in any way, but I wonder if this kid was a victim of bullying? Just speculating here.

According to news reports, the victim is alive.

7. Never,

The USA is as doomed as ancient Rome. I am glad at my age, I will most likely be dead before it happens, but we have lost our soul.

8. When we address social, cultural, and economic issues/inequalities

But that is not likely to happen since we are so easily sidetracked or distracted.

11. There is at least one shooting daily

in the city of Atlanta. I live in the suburbs northwest of Atlanta and we have a very low crime rate. Everyone who lives here feels very secure, plus we have a great police department. I live in a mobile home park and we have a neighborhood watch. Everyone watches for any suspicious person.

13. Yep. Remember the early 90s? 3-4 shootings in schools, every day, week in, week out

Those were very very bad times.

16. The violence was much more concentrated, though

In schools where "other" kids, went. The violence level is much lower now, but seems to be somewhat more spread out.

17. I agree, the sickness has spread out. I worry for my grandsons, ages 3 and almost 12. The oldest was

kicked out of school for pointing his finger like a gun. The bus is a nightmare of kids abusing other kids, the ones that finally fight back get kicked off, rarely the offenders.

Mad world, Recursion, very mad.

18. Mad world indeed. OTOH your grandkids are safer than we were in school

I know it doesn't seem like that, but the media doesn't always give people an accurate impression of things.
