Michigan Governor Backs Off ‘Unfair’ Electoral Rigging Plan

Source: Think Progress

The prospects of a proposal to rig Michigan’s electoral votes in favor of Republicans took a nosedive on Tuesday as Gov. Rick Snyder (R) came out against the plan this year.

Snyder had previously been considering the plan to shift Michigan’s presidential system from a winner-take-all system to divvying electoral votes by congressional district.

However, in an interview with Bloomberg, Snyder backed off, saying he was “very skeptical” of the idea, noting it would “change the playing field so it’s an unfair advantage.” He finished by saying, “I don’t think this is the appropriate time to look at it.”

1. He was also "against" so called "right to work" laws.

Until he was for it.

8. My thoughts exactly.

He has no problem talking up a spell, but when it push comes to shove, he's militantly right-wing.

3. I think he's hearing from someone whispering in his ear...

I'm no constitutional lawyer but my guess is that this would surely get a challenge in the courts. Of course, it DOES look pretty terrible, but with these guys, you gotta "get 'em by the balls and their hearts and minds will follow," as somebody once famously said...

6. That's right.

and at the last minute, too. These people are not ever going to give up, and we need to realize that in order to fight them.

9. Didn't he promise not to push "right to work laws" too?

In Ohio Sec. of State Husted promised not to mess w/ the vote
and went right ahead and did it when it was too close to the election
to do anything.

Bottom line is do not trust any of these bastards on anything because they
know the demographics is weighted against them so they have to
rig the system.

11. Snyder lies

This man is a terrible governor. He has proved that he is willing to say one thing and do another. His excuse for signing the "right to work" bill was right out of animal farm. Just another republican out to help his 1%.
