The infamous chair now sits in the office of the chairman of the Republican National Committee. But don't worry, the prop isn't there as a happy reminder of how this year's GOP convention and subsequent election played out. Instead, it appears to be serving as something of a reminder of what went wrong for the party. CNN with the details:
The chair Clint Eastwood used as a prop in his rambling and at times incoherent critique of President Barack Obama at the Republican National Convention is now one of the many pieces of political memorabilia in Reince Priebus’ office on 1st Street in Washington.
Priebus will address his fellow Republicans at a winter meeting in Charlotte this evening, when he plans to lay out an ambitious plan for the GOP to compete in all 50 states come 2016, according to a preview of his remarks provided to Politico. "We must compete in every state and every region, building relationships with communities we haven’t before," he plans to say, adding: "It’s time to stop looking at elections through the lens of ‘battleground states.’ We have four years till the next presidential election, and being a ‘blue state’ is NOT a permanent diagnosis."
