Geithner To Leave US Treasury On Friday: Source

Source: Agence France-Presse

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who steered the administration of President Barack Obama through the financial crisis, will step down from his post Friday, a source told AFP on Tuesday.

Geithner had said he would leave the department after the conclusion of Obama's first four-year term. The president was sworn in on Sunday for a second term.

Obama has nominated longtime Washington insider Jack Lew, his current chief of staff, to succeed Geithner. His nomination requires Senate approval.

Deputy treasury secretary Neal Wolin is to serve as acting secretary pending Lew's confirmation.

2. Geithner's net worth going into government

which as some say was many years ago and compare it to his net worth going out and reconcile the difference. Some in the "news" like to tout he "served us" when he most likely served himself and cronies.

Every congress critter should be required to disclose their net worth going in and going out of government and be required to explain the difference, and be sent to prison for 20 years minimum if they lie.

9. Man of the People

He should teach everyone how to chisel the system and get rich by BFing everybody. Not much different then all the rest that came before him. Sadly the ones after him seem to be not much different. In a country of 300 million, you could not find some to do the job, besides all the ones right under your nose.
