JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) A bill introduced in the Alaska House would make it a misdemeanor for a federal employee to try to enforce any new restrictions on gun ownership.

HB69, from House Speaker Mike Chenault, was introduced the same day President Barack Obama unveiled a package of executive orders and legislative proposals aimed at curbing gun violence. Obama's proposals include background checks for all gun sales and a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

They follow last month's deadly shooting at a Connecticut school.

Chenault said tragedy isn't a license for "federal encroachment on constitutionally protected freedoms."

His bill would deem unenforceable federal laws, orders, rules or regulations that seek to ban or restrict ownership of a semiautomatic firearm or require a firearm, magazine or firearm accessory be registered.

1. All these pols that do this in the different states

should be required to pay back the state when their law is taken to court. The supreme court already ruled that there can be regulations and laws about the types of guns and ammo.

2. Supremacy Clause

A state no can do. They could take it to the Supreme Court though.

3. What do you expect from Alaskan Conservatives?

What do you expect from Alaskan Conservatives? Remember that air-headed, winking set of hooters they elected Governor just a few years ago?

4. While you are at it

please pass a law requiring oil to magically appear in the ground and smell of fairy farts when burned.
