RFK Jr: 'Very convincing' evidence that JFK wasn't killed by lone gunman

By Jamie Stengle, The Associated Press

DALLAS -- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is convinced that a lone gunman wasn't solely responsible for the assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and said his father believed the Warren Commission report was a "shoddy piece of craftsmanship."

...............................

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said his father spent a year trying to come to grips with his brother's death, reading the work of Greek philosophers, Catholic scholars, Henry David Thoreau, poets and others "trying to figure out kind of the existential implications of why a just God would allow injustice to happen of the magnitude he was seeing."

He said his father thought the Warren Commission, which concluded Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in killing the president, was a "shoddy piece of craftsmanship." He said that he, too, questioned the report.

"The evidence at this point I think is very, very convincing that it was not a lone gunman," he said, but he didn't say what he believed may have happened.

2. RFK Jr has become a joke and an embarrassment.

Isn't he still sitting squarely in the anti-vac camp with stripper Jenny McCarthy, averring that vaccines cause autism?

22. These provacciners

are really single minded and have only this one issue. NO ONE IS EVER ALLOWED TO ASK A SINGLE QUESTION ABOUT ANY VACCINE'S SAFETY OR THEY ARE THROWN IN WITH ALL TEABAGGERS! How dare anyone ever ask one question, let alone suggest a research trial!!!!

7. My ex-boss was a Robert F. Kennedy Fellow, a Hickory Hill regular, and he said the whole family

believes that the armed security guard behind Kennedy was the second gunman who delivered the killing shot below and behind RFK's right ear. Sirhan was several feet in front and above. It's all laid out in vivid, compelling detail in this book which was on his office shelf:

27. There's no way Ted could possibly believe both his brothers died the way we were told

I would never call that man a liar, but I just can't believe he felt that way.

29. But that's what he put in his book while dying

So, you cannot escape the conclusion that you believe Ted Kennedy lied about what he believed, even though be knew the book would be published after his own death.

14. Er, the article discusses RFK JR's ideas about JFK's murder, not his dad's murder.

There's nothing tinfoil hat about that or RFK Jr's similar views on the subject.

11. RFK Jr. An Embarrasment?

RFK Jr.'s made some mistakes, who hasn't? But he's been a liberal activist willing to take on the likes fossil fuel industry. And who would fault him for questioning the Warren Commission's "magic bullet" theory? Has the Democratic party shifted so far to the right that liberal activists who question the drug and oil corporations are now considered jokes?

20. There's a cadre of hard-boiled Kennedy detractors on this board who take any opportunity

to gleefully attack members of the Kennedy family. The place is infested.

I'm not referring to those who are skeptical of various JFK assassination theories.

23. Agreed RFK Jr. is not perfect, but he has done a lot of good things

He has been a great advocate for consumers and the environment. I am not anti-vaccine and I get my flu shot every year, but I also recognize that vaccines are not without problems and I am glad we have people like RFK Jr. to advocate for making them safer.

Why always believe the official story? And vaccines may indeed cause autism.

3. I mean this with great respect to Robert Jr ..

and it's probably time someone from the Kennedy family finally speaks, though no one could blame them for their silence .... but that isn't exactly big news to those of us who lived through it ... and have researched the subject ...

Sam Giancana, Santos Trafficante and E. Howard Hunt all acknowledged their involvement before their deaths.

Do some open minded research. The Oswald scenario doesn't hold up.

21. There's significantly more evidence supporting Rober Kennedy Jr's viewpoint

than supports the Warren Commission's findings. The vast majority of people who have done their own research have come to the same conclusion - Oswald was not the "lone gunman". The Warren Commission report was one of the most elaborate "conspiracy theories" ever created.

13. If the proof was given. All RFK Jr said is he believed there were proofs.

Plenty of people have said that before him, hence no news there. There were movies made. There were books written by scholars. So, this is not news, no. It is interesting, but the fact that RFK Jr does not believe his uncle was killed by one gunman is no news.

I am not saying he is wrong. I agree with him on that. But that this would be something that is worth a news release shows how broken the media is.

18. Of course it's news. He's going on record as saying his father rejected the Warren

Commission findings.

The Warren Commission apologists have consistently referenced Robert Kennedy's public statements of support for the Warren Commission findings as "proof" that the Commission's conclusions should be accepted. Now his son comes forward and reveals that

1.) his dad did not accept the findings ("He publicly supported the Warren Commission report but privately he was dismissive of it.") and

2.) his dad "had investigators do research into the assassination and found that phone records of Oswald and nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who killed Oswald two days after the president's assassination, "were like an inventory" of mafia leaders the government had been investigating".

The link between Oswald, Ruby and the Mafia is something that Warren Commission supporters have been denying for years.

16. All the credible evidence says one guy. An ultra-left loser named Oswald.

Oh, there are lots of accusations, and a metal-jacketed bullet can go through two guys and look flattened on one side.

(It is not "pristine.")

But all credible evidence points to Oswald. And RFK Jr is an idiot.
