A working Weiner - Anthony lands new gig

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Rhiannon12866 (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: New York Post

Disgraced ex-Congressman Anthony Weiner has landed a job after being unemployed for 18 months, his first gig since resigning amid a Twitter sexting scandal.

Weiner, who is married to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s aide, Huma Abedin, will work as a consultant at Concept Capital Markets, a Madison Avenue brokerage firm, sources said yesterday.

It’s not a full-time office job, the sources said.

The news was all the buzz yesterday at a power breakfast at Winter, a pop-up restaurant run by Loews Regency Hotel as its traditional spot undergoes renovations.

When you had to work to send a picture of your junk to someone you were wooing! If you didn't have a Polaroid, you had to get a regular camera, take several pictures in hopes you got a good shot, take the film to the drugstore, hope the "cool" clerk who wouldn't say anything was working, wait a week to get your pictures, find the best shot, mail them to your ladyfriend, and then wait 2 days to a week depending on whether she called or mailed you back to profess her love.

Technology has spoiled us.

and summarily punched you on the nose the next time that you stopped by their house to pick her up. A few days letter you got an envelope with the torn bits of the picture and you never saw that girl again. You then went back to the drawing board, took another pic and the process started all over again.

Huma must be relieved.

BTW guys, taking pics of your "best friend" and sending it to strangers will only get you laughed at as the intended girl will undoubtedly share the pic with her girlfriends and they will all mock your little buddy.

The New York Post reported this morning that pre-Snapchat sexter and former U.S. congressman Anthony Weiner was going to Wall Street. Citing "sources," the Post reported that Weiner has landed a part-time gig as "a consultant at Concept Capital Markets, a Madison Avenue brokerage firm."

That's news to Robert E. Moore, the CEO of Concept Capital Markets, who told us he's never met Weiner and hasn't offered him any kind of job.

"We've never met him, never talked to him, never seen him," Moore said. "We don't know how that story started."

Moore sent a memo to his employees this morning, calling the Post's story "inaccurate," and saying: "Concept Capital Markets has not engaged former congressman Anthony Weiner."

That's a shame. A downcast Weiner is a sad thing to see.

All joking aside, the guy needs a job. He has a family to support. Besides, if Vitter, Spitzer, Gingrich and many others have gainful positions after worse offenses, why shouldn't Anthony too? He did something very stupid, but he shouldn't pay for it for the rest of his life.
