|
Webster being a sprawling suburb of Rochester, but hometown none the less.
Details are short and few, at least two firefighters at Strong Hospital, one via Mercy Flight for GSW trauma. Of course, none of this would have been possible if we armed our firefighters to the gills... |

|
They are POST certified and are able to make arrests. Most are firefighters that have come up the ladder and become Fire Marshal's.
Arming firefighters? We've got enough equipment to carry already and besides, that's not our job, but if things don't change in this country vis a vis guns, then all bets are off. |

http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20121224/NEWS01/312240026/webster-shooting?odyssey=mod|breaking|text|Home
At least two Webster firefighters are dead, and three houses on Lake Road continue to burn after a gunman open fired on firefighters who responded to an early morning fire. There are no active shooters at the scene, according to a news conference held by Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn. The fire broke out at 5:45 a.m. at 191 Lake Road on the Irondequoit Bay side of the street. The gunman open fired on the first firefighters to respond, striking one in the backside. Strong Memorial Hospital confirmed another firefighter was being treated, but it is not clear if he was shot or injured in the fire. Webster Fire Marshal Rob Boutillier said it is not clear how many other firefighters were hit. |

We need to ascertain IF we can figure out what is wrong with these shooters.
If we can't, we need to find out what we can do for each other, quit going to wars, decide we don't mind the deaths, or Constitutionally drop certain guns as a right and maybe not even make it a privilege. |

|
Last edited Mon Dec 24, 2012, 12:41 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) He was the son of her hairdresser. My sister met him a couple of times when he came into visit his Mom at work. He had just gotten a job as a 911 operator for the Sherriff's department and was a volunteer firefighter as well. She says he was a really nice young man and his Mom was so proud of him.
My sis is crying. What a sad day. How many more senseless gun tragedies do we have to endure before we all say enough is enough? |
