Ex-Sandy Hook Teacher: Lanza Was Sweet Little Boy
Source: ABC News
A former teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School says she remembers the gunman who killed 26 people at the school as a smart, sweet boy in her second-grade class. Carole MacInnes (MAC'-IN'-ness) says Adam Lanza did not require extra academic attention and he acted normal socially. She says she met his mother during parent-teacher conferences twice, but never his father. The retired teacher said Sunday that Lanza was a gentle soul and she can't imagine what caused him to want to kill. She never saw him after the second grade. I have no idea what you are talking about:
You pulled something totally out of your ass, and are defending it with "well, my opinion is as good as yours". My daughter does that. She's 12. I am not an expert on mental illness, and I don't need to be in order to know that you aren't either and that you are engaging in wild speculation. Tell me, are you 12? |

26. actually mental illness isn't mental illness in the way you say
|
depression is exceedingly common, is mental illness, is almost never associated with mass shootings.
schizophrenia is a mental illness, doesn't make a person violent. it can but the illness does not = violent outbursts. mental illness is so common, yet what you're referring to is a very extreme manifestation...and furthermore, many sane people commit mass murders. many sane people murder loved ones in crimes of passion in anger. the idea that mental illness is the operative phrase is wrong. it's not. |

I am going off of the news reports that he was suffering from a mental illness. What he did suggests he has one, but again, I am not diagnosing or speculating.
Again, You are pulling wild ass speculations out of your ass, and all of your 12-year old level of arguing isn't going to change that fact. |

I think Lanza was damaged goods, but the environment upon which he matured is a factor. Mommy taking to the gun range to unload with an assault rifle was NOT helpful, regardless of his mental disease type.

Maybe it's not reducible to some or another social ill - I think it goes deeper. Perhaps humanity will evolve past such things. I hope so.

If he'd been trying to run over puppies on his bike, and was already making a habit of petty little cruelties at age 7 then perhaps there might be some relevance. That he was a sweet little boy, not so much.
They were ALL "sweet little boys" until they turned into baby killing monsters. |

He was speculating that the shooter may have had "Lyme's rage".

It would be nice if they did a full viral assay to determine if his brain was being affected by infection of "something"..while checking for frontal lobe damage and possibly tumor (as was the case in the Texas sniper) Perhaps an opportunity to find out what causes some mental illness.

but when they were 20(and usually before that) they changed for the better.
and of course you can get the opposite also. and based on what we have heard about him as an adult maybe he didn't change. just that when you are young and quiet it's seen as shy, cute etc. but as you get older it can be seen as odd (if that haircut story is true). |

41. Where was
|
his father? It makes you wonder if his father ever took part in raising his boys. Everything we have heard about was the mother being the mom and father of two Boys but never the father involved with raising his own sons. The only thing you hear is this guy making money and years later dumping his wife for another woman.
Adam Lanza seems to have had no relationship with his father at all. The media hasn't provided any questions at all from his father. If this kid had any medical problems at all growing up, then wouldn't he know? |
