Source: CBS Detroit

With Christmas right around the corner, Toys R Us announced that its stores nationwide will keep their doors open for 88 consecutive hours of shopping.

The event begins at 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 through 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve, providing last-minute gift-givers with “all the toys, all the time,” including the hottest toys of the season, as well as those that can only be found at Toys R Us stores.

2. Doubt it. Plus, they get to work until 10 p.m. Christmas Eve!

More Republican "family values" at work.

18. I worked therefor several years.

Put in a lot of hours over Christmases.

Yes, you get overtime pay. It's required by law, I think, in most, if not all, states.

21. It is, by federal law.

But a lot of companies defy it. Good to know they don't, or didn't.

4. 20 Less Children to purchase gifts for

We don't need more commercialism in Christmas, we need for those who claim to have Christian value to have more Humanity.

5. I recall that Bain owns Toys R US.

I've also read some information indicating that Bain pulled some dodgy moves to facilitate Toys R Us acquiring eToys for pennies on the dollar. This illegal acquisition of eToys, I found out, happened in 2000 and 2001 and was likely behind RMoney's retroactive retirement from Bain.

So this prostituting of Christmas in the name of profit isn't at all surprising considering who's behind it.

9. No-one has alerted on the OP as 'not LBN material', yet

So that's the primary way it remains in LBN.

8. I worked at toys r us one Christmas in college.

Horrible job, the parents were so rude. The meltdowns by parents who couldn't get the wanted sold out toy was a sight to see. But the worst was catching parents shop lifting because they couldn't afford to buy their kis a present for Xmas. They sobbed like babies when we got them in the office when they told us why they shoplifted. One manager always called the cops, another told them never set foot in this store again. And then someone in the parking lot caught up to them and gave them a toy that had been returned or the packaging has been crushed. I loved that manager and hated the one who called the cops. The good manager hired me, I always made sure I worked when he did. But it was still a shitty job that turned me off of working retail ever again.
