Facebook to overhaul its privacy controls
Source: CNN
Facebook announced a major overhaul to its privacy controls Wednesday, adding a handful of features while simplifying and clarifying the ways users can already tweak their accounts. The changes, which will roll out over the next few weeks, include a new tool that lets users ask for photos of them to be removed from the site. Also being upgraded is a tool that lets users see what other people can -- and can't -- see on their Facebook pages. In addition, users will get more control over the apps they enable on the site by gaining the ability to grant permission for some access requests but deny others. Facebook says the changes are designed to help users better control, and understand, the information they're sharing on a site with roughly 1 billion accounts. 9. Hahaha!! I have 20 friends. Four are nationally known quilt designers, one is my nephew,
|
and the rest are women who belong to my quilting group. We see each other once or twice a month, and communicate via email and phone.
I got a friend request from someone whose mother shared a hospital room in New York with my mother-in-law 55 years ago when Mr. k was born. The guy has 2300 friends. I don't know that many people, let alone that many that I want to keep in touch with. |

7. They need to do something about multiple accounts, most with no profile, for the same users.
|
I have seen HIGH numbers of these associated with some users. Had to block them all and it seems to have reduced some hacking tracks that I have been seeing.

10. It's a start
|
but they also need to fix it so that right wing trolls can't get around their bans.

11. It's about time.
|
They used to have some of these controls in place and then they removed them. I like to have complete control over what people can see on my wall.
