Police Arrest Suspect in Subway Death

Source: New York Times

The police charged a homeless man on Wednesday with murder by pushing a man on a subway platform in front of an oncoming train on Monday.

The suspect, identified as Naeem Davis, had been taken into custody by the police on Tuesday afternoon on 50th Street and Seventh Avenue, a block from an entrance to the subway platform where the police say he pushed Ki-Suck Han of Elmhurst, Queens, onto the tracks. Mr. Han was struck and killed by a Q train moments later.

Detectives questioned Mr. Davis, 30, for hours at the Midtown North precinct station, and Paul J. Browne, the department’s chief spokesman, said that during questioning Mr. Davis made statements implicating himself in the crime.

...snip...

Cellphone video recorded by a subway rider on the 49th Street station platform showed what appeared to be a confrontation between Mr. Davis and Mr. Han. A freelance photographer working for The New York Post, who was also on the platform and took pictures of Mr. Han seconds before his death, said he had seen Mr. Han “flying through the air and onto the track.”

1. thank goodness, I think anyone who takes the subway is haunted by this

it was despicable for the photographer for the NYC RW rag to be taking pictures during this event.
tragic....

2. I don't care what

obvious mental issues Davis has-this was inexcusable.

3. Was Davis being harassed moments before pushing Han into an oncomming train?

Was Han working an angle on the homeless story after the barefoot man story exploded on the Manhattan scene yesterday?

Not excusing murder/manslaughter.

Just questions.

6. Han was unemployed. The photographer was working on a homeless story.

Two different people.
