Rep. Tom Cole: Republicans Don’t Need to Present a Plan Yet

Source: ABC News

Republicans don’t need to counter President Obama’s proposal to avert the fiscal cliff with a formal plan of their own, according to Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla., the deputy majority whip in the House of Representatives.

“I don’t think we need to put a formal proposal out on the table,” Cole said on the “This Week” roundtable Sunday. “The Speaker has already said that revenue is on the table. We have an idea of how to get there in terms of not raising rates but finding another way through the tax code and reform.”

“Beyond that we’ll see how negotiations go,” added Cole, who broke ranks with his party last week by calling for immediately extending middle class tax cuts scheduled to expire at the end of the year.

Former Romney campaign senior adviser Dan Senor disagreed with Cole, saying that Republicans do need to present a formal proposal on avoiding the fiscal cliff.

I guess we now know why Republicans countered President Obama's proposal with nothing more than a set of talking points and $800 million of mystery meat revenues that could very consist of nothing more than revenue due to projected economic growth. Under the new Republican theology, increased revenues due to economic growth counts as a tax increase!

2. Your "new Republican theology" is actually Norquist's standard position

According to Grover anything that causes more money to show up in the government's bankbook is a tax increase and must not happen.

6. THE GOP PLAN IS TO SCREW EVERYONE EXCEPT THE 1%

These people will be in lock step with their masters and they will fail this country AGAIN. Nothing will be do since the GOP is safe with doing NOTHING again. The people who elected these MORONS are use to nothing since they seem to have a COMMON life or they would have elected better people.
