"Authorities launched a homicide investigation Monday into the house explosion that killed a young couple and left numerous homes uninhabitable in an Indianapolis neighborhood.

Indianapolis Homeland Security Director Gary Coons made the announcement after meeting with residents affected by the Nov. 10 blast and shortly after funerals were held for the victims, who lived next door to the house where investigators believe the explosion occurred."

3. Not two exclusive sets

Some Americans are Muslim and some Muslims are American.

And besides, Earth First is considered a terrorist organization and they're mostly Americans (read: white).

2. Suspicion is also falling on the homeowner

The linked article says that the owners were away at a casino, the daughter was away staying with a friend and the cat was being boarded for the weekend when the explosion occurred. One of the comments refers to a newspaper article saying that the owner was behind on the mortgage. It will be interesting to see how this comes out. It's a tragedy that the neighbors died and even more so if it's because some one wanted to get an insurance payoff.

8. That's what I am thinking:

everyone who lived in the house was staying elsewhere during this time and their excuse was that the furnace wasn't working. Did they hire the guy in the white van to blow it up for them?

13. This case stunk like three-day-old fish almost from the start.

1) Homeowner conveniently gone.

2) Homeowner had gone through a nasty divorce, where the ex was ordered to have no contact with her.

3) Homeowner had tried to sell house. Failed.

4) Ex gets on TV and claims that his kid was texting him that the house stunk of gas for about a week.

5) Gas company has no record of any kind of complaint of gas odor, either from the house nor from the neighborhood the night it blew.

And on and on.

Enough circumstantial evidence there that points to a lot of people, for sure. But a lot about this just did not add up from the get-go. The ex seemed all too eager to get his face on TV to tell his side of things; the homeowner was on this past week, and while she seemed upset and crying, a lot of people on social media sites here noted a strange lack of tears.

Investigators -- including ATF -- have been unusually untalkative, too.

Two people are dead, and a lot of people now don't have homes, and for what true motive, no one knows right now.

7. Too many burritos

Really sucks for the neighbors though. Watch the insurance companies say it was flood damage so not covered, or it was a pre-existing condition (the house was standing, just waiting to be knocked down).

14. A lot of homes are uninhabitable.

We were talking last night: What could this mean for these people in terms of their insurance, since this is now a criminal investigation? Civil suits against whoever is charged, or how will this play out? A lot of people have to start over from scratch here.

10. I have thought from the beginning that this was too destructive

to have been a simple gas explosion. I've seen the aftermath of gas building up in a cellar and being set off. It was nothing like that.

11. Living 5 miles from the blast, our house shook, and the windows rattled.

If it wasn't from an underground main, we thought that it was far more powerful than a gas leak explosion.

A few days ago, I watched an interview with the owner. I think it was ignorant for her and the boyfriend to say anything publicly, but this was in their lawyer's office, so he must have told them it was ok.

Anyway, she was a bit incoherent with the tears and all, but she blurted out something that I believe was the answer to it.

She said, "Somebody knew that we were not at home." I told my husband right then that this was no accident.

I am guessing that she suspected someone. My theory is that the boyfriend either had friends that did him a "favor", or enemies that were paying him back for some reason.
