Obama’s favorable rating jumps to 58 percent

As talks begin, Obama’s favorable rating has jumped up to 58 percent, according to a new Gallup poll. That’s his highest number since 2009. The Democratic Party also got a bump, but not the GOP.

Mitt Romney got a bigger bump than Obama. +4 to Obama's +3 wonder if they have things backwards..??

Hell, even Republicans don't have much of a favorable opinion of Mitt Romney anymore! (I.E. Bobby Jindal, Scott Walker, Jon Huntsman, and, as of this morning, Chris Christie)

13. yeah, that is job approval - not favorability

the latter is more of a "do you like the guy" question and the former, more important number is a better sign of political clout. Though lower, the 52 ain't bad.

12. I'm still wavering on Gallup. I'd like to see polls who weren't declared the worst by Nate.
