McCain skips Benghazi briefing, gets testy when questioned by CNN

When CNN approached McCain in a Capitol hallway Thursday morning, the senator refused to comment about why he missed the briefing, which was conducted by top diplomatic, military and counter-terrorism officials. Instead, McCain got testy when pressed to say why he wasn't there.

"I have no comment about my schedule and I'm not going to comment on how I spend my time to the media," McCain said.

Asked why he wouldn't comment, McCain grew agitated: "Because I have the right as a senator to have no comment and who the hell are you to tell me I can or not?”

...

According to a Democratic aide on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, only three of the eight GOP members of the committee attended the two hour briefing that ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. By contrast, seven of the nine Democratic members were there.

Maybe saying, "I live in your district and you're my senator, so therefore you work FOR ME. Now I DEMAND to know why you missed that briefing."

Wait, McCain's a republican and no one should be allowed to question them.

rather than analyze, logically, what went wrong in Benghazi they prefer to place the blame on the most convenient Democrat.

is merely to give them carte blanche to say and do whatever they want. They always shoot themselves in the foot eventually. We saw it in the debates with Romney, Mourdock and Brown, we saw it in the Libya presser Romney called in the middle of the night, we saw it in the talk shows with Akin, we see it in the Capitol hallways with McCain. They just can't help but self-destruct.

Obama now has a bulletproof shield against McCain. Someone else will have to carry the message. McCain is ruined on this issue. He couldn't be bothered to attend a briefing on Benghazi at the same time he was yelling into a microphone about Obama not paying attention to Benghazi.
