'Elmo' Accuser Recants Allegations of Underage Sex With Kevin Clash

Source: ABC News

The 23-year-old man who accused Kevin Clash, the man who has been the voice of Elmo on "Sesame Street" for nearly three decades, of having had a sexual relationship with him when he was a minor recanted the allegation today.

"He wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship," according to a statement issued by the unidentified man's representative, Andreozzi & Associates. "He will have no further comment on the matter."

I can't figure why the guy made the accusations in the first place.

I didn't doubt that Clash was telling the truth.

To find out more about the man and his work, there's a really terrific documentary about him on Netflix called BEING ELMO: A Puppeteer's Journey

Then I turn on the morning news and there was horrible talk of Kevin Clash!

I am sorry - from the doc, you *know* he wouldn't do anything to tarnish PBS, the Muppets, and especially Elmo. He loved puppets as a child and worked his way up.

I sounds like a spurned/jilted lover tiff to me.

Hugs and Kisses Kevin/Elmo!

I remember seeing Kevin with his daughter - (and family? - I thought he was married. Yes? No? )

I fell in love with the man.

Back in the day...
I know some gays married, trying not to be gay or else trying to hide it.

I hold no judgement on anyone.

I just had a deep feeling, after watching the doc, that he was no molester!

We should follow suit and have the sleaze bag lawyer pay too. Andreozzi & Associates should have done their due diligence before allowing any statement at all.

Instead of coming out on his own terms when he was ready and comfortable, he had to have his sexuality releaved in such a degrading and humiliating matter. Terrible.

My ex is a teacher, and I remember how careful he was never to even be alone with a student because as a gay man he was afraid of false accusations.

One, the accusers name should be made public. Two, the accuser should be charged with filing a false police report if he did indeed file a police report. Three, the accuser should be paying a bunch of money to this man whose rep he ruined.

was smart enough to take advantage of the publicity and go for a shakedown. Unfortunately I don't think Casey will be back. The RW will hound Sesame St because as we know, gay men can't keep their hands off the kids.

Emotional roller coaster and all.

Sadly for the victims of jilted lovers it can be life altering.

edit: upthread someone posted that the accuser is rumored to be getting a 6 figure settlement, if that's true then it was a payoff... in that case it's hard to know the reality behind the situation.
