Karl Rove Defends His $300 Million Disaster...Last edited Fri Nov 9, 2012, 04:20 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
Source: Talking Points Memo
Karl Rove boasted on the eve of Tuesday’s election that all signs pointed towards an electoral college landslide. He was right about the result, just wrong about the candidate. And now it’s up to Rove to explain to donors why, after blowing through $300 million of their money, President Obama is still President Obama and Harry Reid still runs the Senate. Judging by Rove’s election night tantrum on Fox News, this was not a situation he was well prepared for. In a surreal stretch of television, he refused to believe the network’s call of Ohio, lashed out at producers for making it, then spouted a blizzard of county by county statistics to justify his increasingly untenable case. “Is this just math that you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better?” Fox host Megyn Kelly asked at one point, “Or is this real?”... ...Two days later, Rove started the hard work of explaining why the Democrats were simply too much for any one billionaire-funded super PAC to handle... |
Granted, they may try. I suspect their version of a 'ground game' will be more of the same kind of strategy (?) that failed them this time. It will be more like "we will tell you how to vote and if you don't agree, it is because you are a socialist-loving, freedom-hating, abortion loving, parasite that refuses to believe our way or the highway is the ONLY way to proceed. Be gone with you.
If they could have gotten just a billion or two more from a handful of the filthy rich people they love so much, they could have bought this election. Not every one of the repubs were 100% confident, though, and tried to set Florida up to allow the supremes to appoint Romney just as they did in 2000 with Bush. |

increase their prices on products and services, and the 47% will pay for all of those ads demanding that we vote for Rmoney and GOP, against our own interests. That's right, we the 47% funded both sides of the election. Remember all of those Romney ads, we the 47% paid for those. Now, isn't that good enough reason to have controlled public financing?
The only guy who paid nothing is Rmoney. He contributed $0 to his own campaign. |

He has always played the role of the man behind the throne.
This time, he had 2 super pacs, Crossroads something or another, I forgot the name already. But no doubt in my mind he was running it. Rove gained Republican attention and Democrat infamy for stealing the election for Bush. He is very good at counting votes and coming up with dirty tricks, and wise enough not to leave his fingerprints on them. He had a lot to do with Attorney Gate and Don siegleman's arrest and trials here in Alabama. His Achille's heel is he fell in love with his own numbers and refused to accept the reality of why anyone would vote against a rich, entitled, racist prick. Rove's bubble finally burst. |
