Former TV anchor Michael Scott arrested in domestic violence case (also of Entertainment Tonight)

Former Omaha television anchor and congressional candidate Michael Scott was arrested Thursday on suspicion of a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

His estranged girlfriend — a 38-year-old Omaha woman originally from Los Angeles — alleged that Scott choked her, hit her in the eye, ripped off two of her fake fingernails and told her “tonight was the night I was going to die like O.J. & Nicole.”

Scott, 58, was in the Douglas County Jail Thursday. He declined an interview request.

After several stints as an anchor in various cities — including twice in Omaha — Scott has been working as a shoe salesman at Younkers at Westroads Mall.

I wrote him a check when he ran for US Congress against Lee Terry in 98. Soon after that he admitted he had used cocaine. That ended any chance he had to win.

1. Yikes.

News anchor to congressional candidate to shoe salesmen.

Hope his girlfriend is going ok. There is never an excuse for domestic violence.

2. He was on the air here for awhile

They were talking about him today on local talk radio. One of the radio hosts had worked with him. She said he was a great guy but an HR nightmare.

It's always good to have a photo to go with the story.... He's a real charmer, huh?
I'm so glad the lady got away from him. Wow..they have guys like this as news anchors
in Omaha? Hmmmmmm......
