Ethics office asked to investigate Issa over anti-Obama video
Source: The Hill
Ethics office asked to investigate Issa over anti-Obama video By Jordy Yager - 11/08/12 11:40 AM ET Watchdog group CREW has asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate whether Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) violated rules by producing a video that attacks President Obama. ........................... Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) alleges that Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, misused government resources for political purposes in making the video, which the group describes as “nothing more than a negative political advertisement against President Obama.” “The attack ad offers no information about any action whatsoever by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform,” CREW wrote in its letter to OCE. “In fact, the only purpose of the ad — particularly given its release just days before a hotly contested presidential election — is to attempt to elicit outrage against the president for holding state dinner at a time when Americans are facing fiscal difficulties.” Read more: http://thehill.com/homenews/house/266843-ethics-office-asked-to-investigate-issa-over-obama-video

He's been very comfortable instigating investigations....maybe the tables will be turned now that he may be investigated. Of course, the sweetest outcome would be that he's forced to resign in disgrace.

11. Issa is to put it politely a personally ethics challenged person
|
He has a history. For years, his conduct reflected his personal lack of integrity. So when the Republicans appointed him to lead the Office of Congressional Ethics, I knew then that subject was nothing but a joke to the Republican party. I pay no attention to his public antics, although one could say that is a dangerous approach to have when one has a threat to society in a position of power.
Sam PS Here is a link that describes some of the issues in Issa's background. If you would like more information, it is pretty simple to come by by googling Issa and arrest record! http://whohijackedourcountry.blogspot.com/2012/06/darrell-issas-long-criminal-record.html |

I live in San Diego and its changing from red to blue fast. We just elected Bob Filner mayor. First Dem mayor here in a long time. Even with a gerrymandered district I think changing demographics in the county will make that moot.

Is Gerrymandering the main mechaniusm keeping republicans in control of the House and allowing them to disregard the voices of most voters as a group? If we get rid of gerrymandering will this not be just as important as fighting Citizens United? Do not both try to do the same thing? Gerrymandering works in the House to serve the interests of big money donors whereas Citizens Unitedwas supposed to greaqtly extend the power of Money to dramatically affect statewide and national elections. Lets take back the House by starting now to remove gerrymanderoing in the states.
Bye Bye Issa, Bye Bye Cantor, Bye Bye Boehner. Gerrymandering is often portrayed as a salamander but it has become thee chief means to ensure elections of snakes like Issa. |
