Bob Woodward Says Romney Allies Brought Benghazi Source To His HomeLast edited Thu Nov 8, 2012, 08:49 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
Source: huffington post
WASHINGTON -- Allies of defeated presidential candidate Mitt Romney approached reporters with a government insider on the Benghazi, Libya, U.S. embassy attack in the final weeks of the campaign, Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Bob Woodward told Fox News Wednesday night. Woodward, appearing on the Sean Hannity show to discuss media coverage of Obama administration scandals, used the anecdote as an example of how he had tried to look into the story behind the Sept. 11 attack on an U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi that left four Americans dead, including the ambassador. "Some people close to Romney, a couple of weeks ago, just showed up at my house and said that they had somebody in a very sensitive position in the U.S. government who was willing to meet with me and give me information about Benghazi," Woodward told Hannity. After the source failed to show at several meetings, Woodward said he finally met the person and was disappointed by the quality of the information. "He finally showed up and he didn't have anything where he had any firsthand knowledge," Woodward said. "He said you ought to talk to his person and that person and so forth." It was not clear from Woodward's remarks whether the people shopping the source in the first place were part of Romney's campaign, or were operating with the candidate's knowledge. Woodward declined to elaborate when asked later by The Huffington Post. A Romney spokesman didn't immediately respond. 1. The R campaign knew Woodward hates Obama and has gone over to the dark side
|
His next book will be a crap dump on the President, to be sure.

What he just did there is burn a source. It's a fuck-you to the Romney camp. Which means that someone didn't want Woodward to help Romney. Who? |

3. Weird...
|
I have thought all along that the way the Libya attack was used by the right was eerily similar to the way they used the original 911. I would not be surprised if Shooter had something to do with the attack. I would bet good money on it.

15. I've been thinking that all along. They were too excited about it, made

too much of it. Like they were really banking on it. Like they thought it would attack Obama's strength (terrorism and foreign policy)--very Rovelike.

10. Because the source was garbage like he said
|
and he was mad that they strung him along. At the end of the day he wants to sell books and win Pultizers. I am not sure he has any particular ideology or, if he does, it will not get in the way of making money or gaining fame.

did desist now? Many layers to this onion.

channel surfing, so missed some of the context, but my impression was that he didn't intend to reveal this, it just kind of came out, and Hannity didn't ask anything about it, no follow up, like oops you shouldn't talk about that.

The fact that a "so called" respected journalist would go on the Sean Hannity Show is telling. If Woodward had a sliver of integrity, instead of some beef the president, there is no way he could validate the likes of a Fox News. What a scoundrel.

24. Some really bad journalism around Benghazi
|
Perhaps the worst was Anderson Cooper, using the stolen diary by the Ambassador, (and stolen by a CNN person) for part of his coverage on this. Cooper is such a rich kid hack that should be forced to spend a few years in journalism school. He and his "keeping them honest" series is a joke. He is only good at being a butt of a joke by Kathy on the New Year's Time Ball drop.
