Minnesota: Voter ID amendment defeated, AP reports

Source: Pioneer Press/TwinCities.com

Minnesotans have rejected a constitutional amendment that would have required a photo ID before they could vote in future elections, according to the Associated Press.

Shortly before 2 a.m., support for voter ID was at 45.7 percent, with many northern precincts still to report.

"It's starting to look like an insurmountable lead for the opposition on this," said Dan McGrath, chairman of ProtectMyVote.com, just before midnight on Tuesday.

1. LOVE! From Minnesota.

We like our elections how we like 'em!

We'll keep them the way they are unless there's a good reason to change them. (And there's no good reason to change what we already do so well.)

2. Marriage amendment also defeated!!

We really did not want to introduce discrimination into our Constitution. Hopefully our now Democratic House, Senate and Governor can clean some more of the hate out our laws.
