Republican Fakes Attack – Sykes and Sikma Should Resign

Madison – On Monday, Kyle Wood, a campaign worker for the Republican congressional candidate Chad Lee, recanted his statements about being assaulted and choked at his home on Oct. 24, according to Madison police.

Kyle Wood was hospitalized for injuries suffered during what turned out to be a fabricated assault at his home. Wood told any who would listen, that vandalism preceding the assault, along with his attacker’s statements during the incident, suggested his sexual orientation and his politics each played a role.
Wood went so far as to defame Democratic Candidate for Congress Mark Pocan when he suggested, Philip Frank, Pocan’s partner, threatened him – going so far as to fake text messages such as:

“Remember your station in life and remember not to cross the husband of a powerful man. You are on shaky footing as it is, push much farther and you won’t have a future in this town, or any other.”

After the fictitious allegations, the Republican echo chamber was in full throat bemoaning violence at the behest of Democrats – especially in light of what supposedly happened to Neal Kedzie’s son, Sean. By all accounts, these “attacks” have some of the same scenarios – Violence over political ideologies. However, in both cases, there is an even more eerie similarity – the absence of defensive injuries.
