Christie in a sweatshirt just now, in spite of the emergency his State is living through now, his initial comments were just political, fucking insane.

1. Although he did credit Obama as being "proactive"

Calling him ahead of time and saying "if you need anything in the next 2 days, just call."

And frankly, the Atlantic City mayor was an idiot if he encouraged people to stay. A lot of those mayors over the years have been both corrupt and stupid.

18. Nucky wasn't the mayor. He was the Treasurer, wasn't he?

Unless he's running for the mayor's office this season -- but don't spoil it for me!

21. Nucky Thompson is a fictional character.

Enoch "Nucky" Johnson was the political boss, but never mayor, of Atlantic City.

16. Mayor never said not to leave, Christy lied

But who's surprised a republican lies... Also take note Chrusty made a reference to HIS PEOPLE, meaning African Americans when he implied Mayor said "He didn't want his people to leave".

Local news paper story regarding Atlantic City evacuation...

8. Just a sweatshirt?!?!?

No pants? Gee, talk about obscene! I understand that one could clothe a family of six with the material it takes to make his one sweatshirt.

Why the heck didn't he just go down to Atlantic City, give a big huff, and blow the darn thing out to sea? Surely he has enough hot air to do so.

Everything this pukoid says and does is political and all about his greatness.

10. I agree with him, my husband was a NYC firefighter

And these people all had time and warning to get out. So why should these responders literally risk their lives going in now, in the dark with a huge storm surge?

13. I agree with him. Down here on the coast I see the results

of folks who are determined to "guard" their property. I know some don't have money for travel and may be worried about their pets and in these cases I would urge them to call for help to get out. I think after Katrina the shelters have been better about accepting pets in carriers. But staying put is foolhardy if you are in an area that is expected to flood, and you're risking the lives of the first responders who will try to find you.

Everybody says the same thing in states that are on the path of the hurricane.

15. Christy lied about the Mayor of Atlantic City...

Chris Christy lying about the Mayor of Atlantic City... Langford NEVER told people to stay in the city. So Christy is abandoning those people left in town.
Christy has had a long going feud with Mayor Langford about controlling Atlantic City and the money generated by CRDA (Casino Reinvestment Development Authority).

Local reporting story where Emergency Management director Foley and Mayor Langford did press conference about evacuation.

20. The Reverend Al was on with the Mayor of Atlantic City who advised that they evacuated 98% for

Irene and will not reach quite that figure for this hurricane, I thought the implication was that the figure would be close.

24. Locking

Your link goes to a basically empty page at Weather Underground, that certainly has nothing to do with Christie. If you want to comment on Christie, GD or Politics 2012 would be the place for it.
