I'm a North Carolinian and an African American at that. I'm a native North Carolina. I'm going to reveal something to you that I'm guilty of. I didn't vote in 2010. A lot of people I know didn't vote in 2010. The turnout was only 49 percent in 2010. If you are depending on 2010 as any indicator of the General Election, then you are a mistaken.

The only Polls that show Romney way ahead in North Carolina are Republican leaning Polls such as Rasmussen and Gravis Marketing. Public Policy Polling has Polled North Carolina more than any Pollster in this state and came up with the same results every time. That is 26 out of 27 now. They have got to be really incompetent to come up with the same results that many times. The last Poll ( Groves) before that showed Obama up by 3 points.

More evidence, Jim Messina and Paul Axelrod claimed the Romney campaign was bluffing about North Carolina. Messina and Axelrod are directly tied to the Obama Campaign and not Begala. Maybe CNN should ask the campaign instead of someone they paid to report to them. That is some advice to Blitzer. If he can go to Romney surrogates, then he should give the same respect to the Obama campaign instead of spitting off Republican talking points. That is what a journalist does.

Mire evidence, it took another news organization ( Huffington Post) to find out the real stratus of the Romney campaign in North Carolina when they claimed they pulled out of North Carolina. Something all the other media didn't take the time to investigate.

More evidence are the actual voting in early voting. Obama actually has a 20 percent lead over Romney in early voting and the turnout is above the numbers in 2008. Despite the Polls, Romney is behind and trying to catch up in early voting. It is debatable if Republicans are actually turning out that would more than likely had turned up on election day to keep close. It is President Obama's ground game that is turning out the new voters in one stop. The Democrats have over a 800,000 advantage in registration. So the media and these so called experts are making guesses but the fact is, Romney is behind in North Carolina and trying to close the gap. he could go into election day down by 20 percent or more.

Thank you for the update in North Carolina. I had long wondered how such a beautiful state with seemingly progressive laid back people could vote against their interests or vote for a total liar. Our post makes me feel alt better from here in Iowa where Obama is leading in early voting.

Today I carried a nice elderly Dem couple to the polls in Lillington and there were around 50 people voting there at 9:30 in the morning. I have hope that my Tar Heel state will vote in Obama in 2012. The people that I have talked with Dems, Repubs and Independents see Rmoney as a snake oil salesman. I'm still trying to get my 'Manchurian Mitt' nickname to stick in people's heads. He's a Rovian puppet that was programmed by billionaires around the US. People have noticed Mitt's flip flopping ways here in NC.

Lots of people, and had fun snubbing the gop middle aged white guy with a shout out to the Democratic volunteer.

Ok half-white, and half Latino, funloving, ex-Navy man veteran of Desert Storm, and gay here in Iowa. I voted for Obama with gusto!!! So excited to see him beat the tar out of this dude Romney who,it turns out, is quite elastic with the truth.

My husband and I are middle aged white couple, and the Dem volunteer was like me. I told her I might never vote for a Republican again. (I left the unopposed R judges unmarked.) She said "They've just gone batshit crazy! I burst out laughing and wholeheartedly agreed!!!

Other than the fact that pollsters are closet attention whores and just love to feel like they're making news. Going from 49-47 to 48-48 is not a "small shift". It is well within the margin of error for the poll. These two results do not reflect any real shift in what the voters are likely to do.

Even though Romney has the support of gazillionaires, President Obama has the support of actual people, not corporations.
