5. Linked to a previous jogger assault

Looks like they found their man, must have been some sort of a DNA match between the previous jogger incident and the Ridgeway murder. He's 17 but I have a feeling he will be tried as an adult in this case.

18. Link didn't work for me, but forensics

is a chilling field choice for someone capable of committing a crime like this.

Depending on his particular area of study, it makes you wonder what a forensics-trained killer might have gone on to do, and how many lives this capture may save.

8. Since Ridgeway murder has hit too close to home

(about 15 miles), I've been hanging on to my 3 year old son very tightly.

I can relax now.

I hope that they got the right person that is responsible.

10. I hope they have the right guy and not just a "patsy"

as the police dept out there must be under tremendous pressure to get someone and fast.

Even a confession could be suspect.

11. There appears to be a DNA link

between this crime and an attempted kidnapping nearby in May. Yes, the cops have been under a lot of pressure, but it would be worse if they chose a 17-year old patsy and it turned out to be wrong.

12. Jessica Ridgeway

This is to the law enforcement men and women who caught this perpetrator of a very ugly crime. What is really sad is that this young man was ever born and obviously very ill.

My heart goes out to the Ridgeway Family and friends and hopefully justice for Jessica will prevail.

We appear to be living in a very ugly time where some of our citizens have no respect for life.

14. Sad. Terribly sad.

Someday people will look back and realize that a 24/7 diet of violence in the media DOES change young people's brains. How many studies do we need to prove it for them?

15. I'm no sociologist

But I think it's more than just violence. It's lack of respect for our fellow man/woman; the vitriol evident in the hate-speech we hear almost hourly; the reduction of those who disagree w/ us to inhuman invectives; the instant-gratificaiton we instill in our youth by giving them everything they whine for - well, the list goes on.

17. For 99.9999999999% of the population media does little BUT

There are those downtrodden depressed sad individuals who slip through the cracks, become invisible to parents and society..who get addicted to violent media and I'm not talking like CSI or Call of Duty type violence, I'm talking the movies that none of us watch or really know about because they are so sick and twisted but they are out there. Individuals like this create false realities and soon progress their sick fantasies towards snuff films and the such. Pharma drugs may have involvement too.

The sad thing is, what can be done about it? Freedom of speech protects these things. And some people close to him may have been too scared to try and help him. And you can't pre-emptively arrest someone.
