John Kerry: Romney is the ‘Wikipedia candidate’

and if he has a repug house, this country is doomed. I am holding my breath that people come to their senses. Americans can't be that stupid can they?

Granted, your Faux News watching crowd IS that stupid. But, IMO, there are many more people out there who just don't have much interest in politics. They don't really pay attention until just before the election, then they really just see a few commercials or sound bites (I must admit that I get tired of all this craziness at times too). It's these people that rMoney is going after with his magic etch-a-scketch shift to the middle. They never heard his right wing stances on abortion, the environment, labor, etc. etc. because they weren't paying attention to the election then. Now they need to decide who to vote for and will pay attention for a week or two and see the moderate rMoney.

my husband is one of them or would be. His wife has a loud mouth about politics and he isn't allowed to tune me out on this. LOL

They cherry picked Bush's best sound bytes and then did inaccurate "summaries" of what Kerry said over silent footage.

...Senator Kerry's personality was the reason he didn't win. Anyone who went to rallies knows that isn't true.

In Flatland women are simple line-segments, while men are regular polygons. Romney is a member of the social caste of gentlemen, a society of geometric figures who understand the implications of life in two dimensions. He wants to visit the one-dimensional world, the Muslim Nations, and convince them of the moral superiority of the second dimension but finds that it is essentially impossible to get there when you can't find their countries on a map first.

If Romney had actually consulted Wikipedia he would have learned that Iran has a seacoast of its own but does not have a border with Syria.

He would have learned that, although the Republicans endlessly deride the stimulus as a failure, economists credit it with saving or creating somewhere on the order of one to three million jobs.

He would have learned that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the federal budget deficit.

He would even have learned a few things about himself, such as that he did not support the bailout of the auto industry, but instead counseled, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt".

If the corporate media routinely presented kind of information that can be found for free (and without advertising) on Wikipedia, Obama would get 400 electoral votes without working up a sweat.

In fact, if the corporate media had presented that kind of information in 2004, Kerry would be President. I was one of the editors who put in a lot of time on Wikipedia's detailed coverage of the Swift Boat attacks. I challenge anyone to find an online source from that corporate media that gives a better account of the truth about Kerry's service in Vietnam.

I'm not in a serious dudgeon about this. I realize that Kerry was just going for a soundbite that would convey Romney's lack of preparation. The New York Times did it better, though, by saying that Romney had apparently prepared by reading only the boldfaced section headings of his briefing papers. A real Wikipedia candidate, by contrast, would know a lot more than Mitt Romney does.
