New poll in Florida shows Obama leading Romney 47% to 46%

Source: examiner.com

The new poll in Florida show a very close race for president in 2012 election.

According to new poll SurveyUSA President Barack Obama is ahead of Mitt Romney, 47% to 46%, this poll was conducted for WFLA-TV in Tampa. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll 5 weeks ago, Romney is up 2 points, Obama is down 1 point.

SurveyUSA showed that Florida 29 electoral votes remain up for grabs, Romney has gained ground in each of 3 SurveyUSA tracking polls going back to 07/20/12. Obama's once 12-point lead among Florida women has been reduced to 4 points.

According to new poll the contest is tied among men. Narrowly, Cubans vote Republican. Decisively, non-Cuban Hispanics vote Democrat. Voters under age 50 vote for Obama. Voters age 50+ vote for Romney. Whites vote for Romney 5:4. Moderates vote for Obama 5:4. Independents break 44% to 40% for Romney.

3. Hit em hard in the ad wars..

. such a slight lead is not good enough. Well within range of the GOP Secretary of State to steal the election.

6. Florida would seal the deal, I just think it's just too fluid and unreliable.

We need Ohio more than anything.

8. Today Silver

Nate said today that Obama has all but lost Florida. He has to keep his campaign revved up there, though, just to prevent Romney from pulling his resources from Florida and concentrating them in Pennsylvania.

9. And how does that make any sense?

Considering the polls are all over the place and quite a few do show Obama is ahead by a small margin. Even cnn poll had Obama ahead by 7 points among registered voters.

12. How many people were polled?

Could we assume about 100? 200? 500--in some wishy-washy area that can go either way? What are the seniors there thinking?

15. 700

According to SurveyUSA the poll was conducted in Cell-phone and home-phone respondents included in this research: The SurveyUSApoll said it " Interviewed 700 Florida adults 10/17/12 and 10/18/12. Of the adults, 645 were registered to vote. Of the registered, 600 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in the 11/06/12 election. This research was conducted using blended sample, mixed mode. Respondents reachable on a home telephone (77% of likely voters) were interviewed on their home telephone in the recorded voice of a professional announcer. Respondents not reachable on a home telephone (23% of likely voters) were shown a questionnaire on their smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device. All interviews conducted after 10/16/12 town-hall Presidential debate".

19. seniors there are all over - the wealthy support R$ & those most concerned about M-care are for O

Those who have enough $$$ not to care about M-care and Soc. Sec. as seniors support R$, I guess b/c he will "save" them with continued tax breaks for the wealthy. Then there are the good ol boy low-information rednecks who support R$ b/c they believe all the lying BS he spews.

I think FL hinges on the Hispanic vote and O's resources should go there.

13. They slam dunked Florida on election night the last time like it was nothing.

The Republicans are running a ticket that wants to screw with the old people's money and health care and we're all supposed to believe it's closer than it was before.

16. I thought it was generally considered that Romney was pulling away in Fla

this poll seems to be all over the place. Obama is still slightly up (within the margin so it is really tied) but it IS tied amongst men? WOW even NPR had a story about the overwhelming "gender gap" that Romney had across the country.

20. Polls

I'm worried about the polls. I look for polls all day long everyday since the 2nd debate. I'm disappointed. I wish I could feel better about what's happening. The Republican's lies are driving me crazy.
