James Carville, Stanley Greenberg Say Obama Economy Message Is Working

WASHINGTON -- After months of warning President Barack Obama that his message on economic success could be off-putting to voters, Democratic strategists James Carville and Stanley Greenberg reported Friday that his economy ads are working better than they had expected.

Carville and Greenberg, who run the public opinion polling and strategic advice group Democracy Corps, have long expressed concern that Obama may seem out of touch by emphasizing the gains his administration has made on the economy.

"I'm worried that when the White House or the campaign talks about the progress that’s being made, people take that as a signal that they think that things are fine and people don’t feel they ought to believe that," Carville said on ABC's "Good Morning America" in June.

Their advice was that Obama should focus his economic message on the future. Since then, the president has done both. Carville and Greenberg wrote Friday that talking about current and future policies seemed to be showing success.

Rmoney's very condition suited him well for the occupation that he chose to engage in - vulture capitalism. Becoming the "ultimate" vulture capitalist and salesman requires "being" what the customer (at the time), "wants" you to be. And I would think that over an extended time, the person becomes hollow because he has "become" so many things and began to internalize them in order to "close the sale", that I expect he would eventually lose sight on "who" he really is.

To him, the shift from one persona to another persona is not generating "lies" but is merely telling the other persona's narrative. Different personas have different narratives that may contradict each other, but that is the name of the game because none of it is supposed to be real. It's like writing a story for a TV series role and once the character has been established, any future dialog or action for that individual MUST be "in character" or the plot becomes implausible.

And I used to complain about Raygun the actor who "played" the role of President. But this man is much more insidious.

middle class rely on. He does not know how to build anything! The movie Pretty Woman had a vulture capitolist in it too. Unlike in the movies, the vulture capitolist does not have a change of heart. This isn't the movies!

We have got to stop letting the Republicans define success and hijack the issue.

They have done all they can to sabotage the economy by refusing to pass jobs bills and with massive layoffs at the state level and they've used Obama as a scapegoat through FOX "News".

attack your opponent's greatest (or at least perceived greatest) strength. Seems counter intuitive, but it is effective. Ask John Kerry.
