Soup Kitchen President: Ryan Did Wash Dirty Dishes
Source: TPM
Brian Antal, the president of a soup kitchen in Ohio, said on Tuesday that his prior comments to the Washington Post were misconstrued and that Paul Ryan did in fact wash several dirty dishes during a photo op with the press this past weekend, NBC News reports: In response to questions about Antal’s comments to the Washington Post that Ryan “did nothing” while at the soup kitchen, Antal said his words were mischaracterized. He told NBC News in that Ryan did very little work only compared to the larger context of Saturday morning, when the kitchen fed 180 homeless people breakfast. Antal conceded that Ryan did wash several dirty dishes. Read more: http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/soup-kitchen-president-ryan-did-wash-dirty-dishes

He said earlier he never would have let Ryan do this, or Obama for that matter because he relies on donations from people of both parties. I guess the Secret Service doesn't care too much about Ryan if the let him make surprise visits to places. I expect Romney is getting better protection.

|
and put them in the sink.
Then when Ryan is washing them he holds them at a weird angle so that the inside of the pan can not be seen. They were NOT dirty. He barely does any scrubbing. That is NOT how to wash a pan. He didn't even wash the edges or the outside. |

48. I worked as a waitress and dishwashing was hot, steamy, messy and dirty unpleasant work
|
Pans that needed extra hand scrubbing were covered in baked on grime and grease and very hot water was used. The other dishes go through a machine with scalding water. The floors are full of messy food and at the end of the night the kitchens were hosed down from the walls down. That's why the walls are covered in metal.
That kitchen the Ryan family were in had already been hosed down. |

They knew he was coming so they "left some dirty dishes for him to do." That is NOT helping out. That is NOT pitching in. Even if they supposedly left some dishes for him, that is NOT volunteering. Anyone who has worked in a professional kitchen knows you do not dry off dishes. They need to air dry unless you use paper towels. The other interesting thing to me in this video was how clueless the kids were. Have they never had to clean up? Different lifestyles I suppose. It would not bother me if it was not for the fact that it is being used as a psyop. We are like you little people see?

65. The ineptitude of rMoney's campaign staff is staggering.

They managed to keep this in the news for another news cycle by arguing that he washed dirty dishes. What a hoot! The thing they're missing is that Ryan's visit completely fucked the soup kitchen.

66. He was washing catering warming pans
|
Rarely would these type of pans be used as other than pans to hold water in, the pans with the food in them are then placed into these pans over a flame. I use them all the time as a caterer. The pans he washed were probably still sitting in the sink because they never had food in them and didn't need to be washed. Only saw him wash 2 of these pans and there was no food on them that I could see. Damage control.
