Obama camp tips hand on debate, hints president will attack Romney on Bain

Source: Fox

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – As President Obama began to hunker down at a plush resort here for three full days of debate prep, his campaign team signaled the incumbent may steal a page from Vice President Joe Biden and show a more aggressive tone in Tuesday's second face-to-face showdown with Republican Mitt Romney.

"Gov. Romney has been making pitches all of his life and he knows how to say what people want to hear whether that was during his time at Bain or during the dozens of town halls he did during the primary," Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday. "His running mate also left him vulnerable on a number of issues -- admitting there was a $5 trillion tax cut, after he denied it, but again failing to explain how they would pay for it, leaving women worried about their ability to make choices about their own health care and failing to articulate their plan for winding down our presence in Afghanistan."

It's significant that Psaki previewed the president's next clash with Romney with an immediate mention of his time at Bain, a word Obama never mentioned during the first presidential debate, in Denver.

Senior campaign adviser David Axelrod said on "Fox News Sunday" that Obama is making “adjustments” before the debate and plans to be more aggressive.

3. Source: Fox?

...and I would believe them?

I would say no to mentioning it in "debate" 2...however, since it is the "town hall" setting, he could address Bain-of-my-existence, directly to the audience and leave RMoney to blubber and blather away with some response.

4. If they are saying that publicly, that means they are not

It's a head fake.

Remember how there were pre debate leaks that Romney would have lots of one liners? He didn't.

5. If Obama can get Romney in a headlock, then he might be able to get Mitt to explain . . .

. . . just how he intends to build 15 ships and 3 submarines a year if he is elected President, and bring the federal deficits down at the same time.

Submarines run around $1.5 billion dollars to build these days.
That's a lot of cabbage.

6. Good tactic.

Whether he will or not, it makes Romney run around in circles.

10. The president has to face up

He has to use the word "trust" to go after Romney. Romney's dishonesty must be confronted head on. It will a bloody bout, with Romney calling Obama a liar right back, but its what has to be done. In the end, people know who Obama is, but they aren't so sure of Romney. They won't let Romney win if they don't trust him.

11. I love it because Romney will be...

...forced to walk around and talk with real live peasants. It's sure to make his head explode.

Plus, Romney won't be able to hide any (ahem) hankies behind a podium during a town-hall.

12. "Bain? I don't know anyone named Bain."

Bring on the denial extravaganza.

13. Where would we be without David Axelrod?

He sees the grand scheme of things and always knows what to do

in the details.

14. Has anyone thought that just maybe

President Obama set Mitt Romney up in the first debate. Think about it, it is a risk but Obama has been doing risk for years and it's a great tactic.
