Jim Messina: Biden a ‘happy warrior’

Source: Washington Post

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina had two words for critics of Vice President Biden’s demeanor at Thursday night’s debate.

“He’s a happy warrior,” Messina told reporters in the red-carpeted spin room immediately after the debate. “That’s fine. That’s who Joe Biden is. And what people got from him was passion for the middle class. What people saw tonight was facts versus index-card talking points, and Ryan couldn’t go anywhere past index-card talking points.”

Deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter echoed that point, telling a swarm of reporters as she exited the spin room that “Joe Biden is 100 percent authentic, and that’s what the American people saw tonight.”

If spin room arrival times are anything to go by, the Democrats felt as if they had the upper hand after the vice-presidential face-off: the Democratic spinners arrived at 10:24 p.m., several minutes before most of those on the GOP side did.

1. Hannity is apoplectic saying that Biden was uncontrolled, rude, almost unhinged! He just

gave the Repugs their marching orders on how to react!

7. Hannity would know uncontrolled, rude, and absolutely unhinged.

He sees that creature in every mirror he passes.

2. New Obama ad should show all the various smirks and weird smiles of romney in the last debate..

.. cuz the media did NOT even mention that fact that Romney smiled like a serial killer the entire time. But Joe? Who laughs easily, is somehow bad???

4. When they have lost they resort to being the victim

I've said it a thousand times. No one is better at playing the victim than the GOP.

5. That's a great way to put it. Happy he had the truth on his side -- saving Social Security and

Medicare for all of us. Not trying to divide us as Ryan was-- pitting the younger folks against existing soon to retire and retirees-- but uniting us yearning to increase and strengthen the middle class.

Beautiful Joe!

He cherished unity in our diversity! Even with that poorly phrased question about the assault on women's reproductive rights. He showed respect for other religions.

And kept things quite real.

And what are you supposed to do after a cascade of whoppers? Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and smile and just address one of the chief whoppers.

Thank you Happy Warrior! Go Joe!
