Appeals Court Rules Ohio Must Make Early Voting Available To All Voters
Ryan J. Reilly 3:35 PM EDT, Friday October 5, 2012

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Friday that Ohio must make early voting during the three days before the election available to all voters if it's available to military members and voters who live overseas. The ruling upheld a lower court's decision.

"The Stateís asserted goal of accommodating the unique situation of members of the military, who may be called away at a momentís notice in service to the nation, is certainly a worthy and commendable goal," the court ruled. "However, while there is a compelling reason to provide more opportunities for military voters to cast their ballots, there is no corresponding satisfactory reason to prevent non-military voters from casting their ballots as well."

1. The judiciary is stopping this republican bullshit.

Every person who is a republican and is silent on the issue of voter suppression should hang their head in shame.

8. the judges who made the decision

Judge Clay, a Clinton selection.
Judge White, originally a Clinton appointee who wasn't confirmed while he was in office; she ultimately was renominated by Bush II after Democratic Senators blocked other Bush nominees.
Judge Hood, a district court judge selected by Bush I.

Interestingly, the judge that concurred/dissented (agreed with the result, but would have tried a different remedy) was White.

4. If they actually believe their own bullshit We Ask America poll, Ohio Rethugs won't have a problem!

The fact that they'll scream bloody murder about this proves they're full of shit on this, as well as every other conspiracy they're currently pimping to boost their pathetic morale.

15. All voters is a bit too expansive. Shouldn't they limit early voting

to just legal voters?

16. Really important in Ohio where there never seem to be enough scanners

in black neighborhoods.

This will allow the retired and unemployed to get in before everyone else comes home from work.

Great news.
