Romney Says Obama Did Not Raise Taxes ‘In His First Four Years’

Source: ThinkProgress

Mitt Romney has argued for months that President Obama raised taxes on middle class Americans and small businesses during his first term. But during a rally in Ohio on Tuesday, the GOP presidential candidate inadvertently undermined his claim, calling tax increases a “new idea” that Obama would institute in a second term:

ROMNEY: His idea now. He’s got one new, one new idea. I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years, said he’s going to do in his next four years, which is to raise taxes. And is there anybody who thinks that raising taxes will help grow the economy?

Watch it:

5. Given the current state of affairs

raising taxes on the wealthy absolutely would grow the economy, yes. It would get some of that enormous butt-load of cash they're hoarding back into circulation.

10. Yup, raise their taxes and they reinvest in their businesses instead

There would be fewer bloated bonuses and more productive research and investment if taxes on the wealthy were raised significantly.

9. You can see who's running Mitt's show.

And it ain't Mitt. So sick of his "campaign" walking back everything he says. "No, he didn't really say that. No, he didn't mean that. No, he doesn't believe that."

11. I swear Mitt is some kind of uber-Psych test on the country

"How badly and confusingly can a candidate run a campaign before losing all of his supporters?" Obama may win all 50 states by the time Mittens is through!

12. The Gaffiest Man In the World...

My baby, he don't talk sweet
He ain't got much to say
But when he does
o boy he really does

Let's hear it for Mitt boy
Let's give the boy a hand
Let's hear it for mitt baby
You know you gotta understand

Maybe he's no alcapone
But he's one-man show
Whoa, whoa, whoa, oh
Let's hear it for the boy

Mitt baby may be rich
He's watching every dime
And maybe he sings off-key
loves mountains and the right size trees

Let's hear it for the boy
Let's hear it for Mitt man
Let's hear it for MItt baby
Let's hear it for Mitt man, yeah, yeah, yeah

............Stolen partial lyrics by the 47%ers..

he says the President didn't raise taxes during his first term and tries to make it seem like a bad thing, but because he couldn't even get his facts straight, he can't stand by it?
