Union-Busting GOP Governor Scott Walker Demands Return Of Unionized NFL Referees
Source: Think Progress
Walker’s sudden support of union labor is surprising, given his push for a radical union-busting law that effectively ended collective bargaining for many of Wisconsin’s public employees. The law, which Walker and his fellow Republicans pitched as necessary to fix Wisconsin’s budget before admitting that it was the “first step” in an anti-union strategy, was so unpopular that it led to massive protests outside the state capitol in Madison and recall elections against Walker and six Republicans in the state senate. Multiple Packers players, incidentally, urged Wisconsinites to vote against Walker in the recall. And while Walker decries the scab officials who replaced union labor on the football field, he doesn’t hold himself to the same standard: after his union-busting law went into effect, union workers were replaced with prison labor. They cheated ..... the same district that put a republican state senator because of
his support for Walker turned around and then voted to keep Walker as Governor? |

But Walker is scum and is hostile to ALL people / workers, except those 1%er types.
It amazes me that the masses couldn't see that...however, we see it time and time again (Baggers!) that Americans will vote against their own best interests, if Cluster Fuks News tells them to. |

14. The Dem candidate was hardly a great champion for Labor
|
- which was probably why various unions in WI split on endorsement - the losing Primary candidate had endorsements, as did the eventual Primary winner. The winner was described by one writer as "a corporate Democrat who inspired no one, having previously attacked the wages and benefits of unions as the Democratic mayor of Milwaukee." ( http://workerscompass.org/the-u-s-labor-movement-at-the-crossroads-in-the-crosshairs/ )
The channeling of the energy in WI - generated by what I think can only be called a genuine, grassroots peoples' movement - into the narrow frame of electoral politics was viewed with alarm by many, who saw it as the losing strategy it turned out to be. Electoral politics and solidarity are incompatible . And Labor's only real power lies in solidarity. |

19. I agree with this too plus some very concrete work by the Tea Party as described in the link
|
I posted in #15 below.
Plus plus, as is mentioned in a few newer articles around here about the current build-up and surge in this kind of activity against Obama it's Tea Party Republicans WITH RALPH REED who has connections in thousands and thousands of churches doing his bidding. I'll see if I can find that link for you. |

showing the last play of the seattle / green bay game.. and draw circles around the scab officials...
And tie it to union busting of Scott Walker and Paul Ryan. |

4. They truly are less troubled by hypocrisy than normal people are.
|
The Packers are a publicly-held team. Therefore, the officials at Packer games are public employees. Therefore, by Scott Walker logic, the unionized officials deserve what they get and the scab officials should be just fine.

6. I could be wrong, but
|
I believe the officials are employees of the NFL, not the individual teams. Officials at Packers' games are not public employees; if they were, they'd belong to a different union.
But I could be wrong. |

Even so, Walker logic would dictate that scab replacements are just fine'n'dandy.
